Walgate Wagon

I came across these ceramic delights when I was searching for an artist to base my class essay on. I dont believe I've ever posted work that isn't mine before. Why? I have no clue. Random internet discoveries are so crucial to my daily inspiration.

I really like this particular woman's sculptures, and can totally relate to her bright colours and cute animals all smooshed into an adorably chaotic package. Walgate is the name and I like her style.

Metamorphi-phy

I created these watery transformations for my drawing long-project. They started as a series of sketches that I couldn't resist painting - they are just a preliminary step for a more developed concept, however.

There are some inconsistencies among the interactions of the people and animals, some look as if they're becoming one and some of them look like costumes... This doesn't bother me too much because I was just painting basically everything that came to mind. I'm not sure which direction I want to go in terms of my next step, but regardless I think they work as a series for now.

Jury

T his new cavas gave me some problems in terms of inspiration.
The project outlines were "an unfinished painting, but to look finished," which I don't think should be too difficult. This isn't actually complete yet, despite the guidelines, and will be completely incomplete in a week or two, I expect.

Snip & Paste

T hese were a part of a drawing project, to create several collages to use as reference for one drawing. I felt fungi would be fun.

"L ook, look! a white spot of him like a single floating feather comes up from the dead hemlock and grows larger and rises, and come close at last, and goes by the landmark pine with a steady sweep of wings and outstretched slender neck and crested head. And wait! wait! Do not move a foot or a finger, little girl, do not send an arrow of light and consciousness from your two eager eyes, for the heron has perched on a pine bough not far beyond yours, and cries back to his mate on the nest and plumes his feathers for the new day!"

- Jewett, A White Heron
